Welcome, Amiguis! My name is Laura (Lao-rah), and I am a public health professional with an MPH, passionate about advancing health equity through research, policy, and practice. I also serve as an Adjunct Professor, helping to educate and mentor the next generation of public health leaders.
I focus on bridging the gap between evidence and action, creating community-centered solutions that make a real difference. Whether designing impactful programs, shaping policy, collaborating with communities, or guiding students, my goal is to ensure that public health efforts are inclusive, effective, and grounded in the voices of those they serve.
Outside of work, I bring mindfulness, creativity, and joy into my life. I am a Usui Reiki Master, Spiritualist/Mystica, floral-lover, and proud mom to an English Bulldog. I enjoy connecting with people, exploring innovative ways to communicate health, and finding inspiration in the communities I serve. A cup of cafecito in the community is the best way to connect!
I believe that health, well-being, and community are deeply interconnected, and I strive to bring both professional expertise and personal values into all that I do.
My work and life are guided by five core values: Integrity, Family, Health, Spirituality, and Stability.
